Moderate (4 Star) Sea Kayak Leader Training

plus Coastal Navigation & Tidal Planning (CNTP) Award - North Wales - £300 or £350 for 5 days.

Longer courses allow for a mix of conditions and more time for development - four days at £300 and a five day course at £350!

This Moderate water sea kayak leader training course, previously known as the 4 * leader training course will cover the personal skills, leadership, improvised rescue and navigation skills, plus the CNTP as a theory based course.  The aim of the CNTP course is to provide paddlers with the tools so as to be able to plan and navigate effectively on coastal journeys in Moderate sea conditions, up to 2 nautical miles offshore in areas of tidal movement up to 2 knots.  During the course there will be lots of opportunity to plan and paddle tidal journey's.

At the end of your Moderate (4 star) leader sea kayak training course you will also have opportunity to complete a personalised action plan.  Plus as part of our commitment to your development and progress we offer you the opportunity if your skills are up to speed to observe and assist on two Coastal Spirit sea kayaking course's, free - you need consistent roll and solid self rescue.

Previous experience and requirements for attending a training course, are the new BC 3 star sea award, or the old 4 star sea award or old level 3 coach training and a current 8 hour first aid certificate incl CPR.

The course, over four - five days aims to exceed the training requirements for this award and goes into more depth, allowing more time for reflection, discussion and being out on the sea, in various conditions.

Cheers, Gordon - Cheshire.

Thank you very much for the nice pictures and the course.  Three days proved to be really valuable for me and gave me extra motivation to continue in the BC performance & leadership awards system.

All the best, Mikk - Estonia

Simon Turnbull

"I've just completed a two day 4* Sea kayak training course with Roger. Having been coached by Roger in the past, I choose to do this course with Roger because I knew I would get a great deal from the course. My expectations were certainly well and truly met"

Tavi Murray

"And I'm probably learning more from his mentoring now, as my paddling horizons expand, than ever before. I can't count how many questions I've asked... and he's answered. Roger has the knack of making that suggestion that radically changes your thinking and moves your paddling on in leaps and bounds."

Stella King

"There are a number of wonderful things about Roger. He has a very light touch in his coaching, and he's always smiling and encouraging you to relax into the enjoyment of the day"

Thanks for a good week kayaking last year.  Over Christmas/New Year I found myself reflecting back over the year just gone, and decided it was amongst the highlights of my year ....
