Focused & Specific

Winter Sea Kayaking, Surf & Tide-race's, Coaching the Mind and Sea Kayak Mentoring.  Courses with a Focused & Specific intent, to support you and enable you to move closer to achieving your goals, what ever these may be.

When you set goals, you have the very best intentions. You want to succeed with your goals and gain the rewards that come with making successful and important changes. However, there is something that can get in the way, life itself!

Just when you are ready to take the needed actions and make those key steps; life gets in the way and you are unable to remain focused on your goals. If you cannot remain focused on your goals, you will lose momentum and fail to make the progress you desire. This soon leads to a loss of confidence and motivation.  Focused and Specific aims too support you on a wide spectrum of sea kayaking courses and programmes, to enable you to gain what you want and need to progress.

Winter Skills Sea Kayaking keeps you active, while your buddies are watching the TV, your out on the water, so when the Summer arrives you are fully ready for your own adventures.  At three levels:  Intermediate (working on 3* performance skills) Intermediate Plus (working on 4* performance and leadership skills) and Advanced (working on 5* performance and leadership skills).  More details can be found here.

Surf & Tide-race paddling is just that, working and playing in the waves.  If its windy , we have the option of beach surfing or a down wind run on the Impressive and unique Menai Straits, or if calm we head for one of the many tide races and overfalls Anglesey has to offer.  Course is no more than four people and is aimed at Intermediate, Intermediate Plus and Advanced.

Experience the thrill of catching a wave, developing greater control and stretching your comfort zone, with support and guidance. More information can be found here.

Coaching the Mind through Performance Psychology is an area which as sea paddlers we give little thought to.  Its one of the key areas that holds an individual back from moving beyond Intermediate conditions.  This course will introduce and expand on the psychological aspects of coaching and will help both the individual as a coach and also as a performer. It will be delivered in an understandable and practical way which should shed some light on this large subject area, 1st day theory, 2nd day on the water - Intermediate to Advanced paddlers.

Performance psychology can help you to understand more about your self and others, gaining skills to manage those emotions better and provide effective strategies to move forwards, with flow.   More information is here.

Sea kayak Mentoring - The sea brings its own unique challenges. Getting the opportunity to learn and gather the skills, knowledge, leadership and experience, can be slow and at time's a frustrating journey. Roger can offer you a Mentoring paddler development programme, which is either short (3 months), medium (6 months) or long term (over a year), enabling you to gain a clearer focus, direction and better use of your limited time. All of this, in a world class destination.  Read on for more information here.

Tavi Murray

"And I'm probably learning more from his mentoring now, as my paddling horizons expand, than ever before. I can't count how many questions I've asked... and he's answered. Roger has the knack of making that suggestion that radically changes your thinking and moves your paddling on in leaps and bounds."

Simon Turnbull

"I've just completed a two day 4* Sea kayak training course with Roger. Having been coached by Roger in the past, I choose to do this course with Roger because I knew I would get a great deal from the course. My expectations were certainly well and truly met"

Stella King

"There are a number of wonderful things about Roger. He has a very light touch in his coaching, and he's always smiling and encouraging you to relax into the enjoyment of the day"
