Winter Sea Kayaking provides a reason to go out and paddle, providing continuity over the Winter months. Skills development and incresed confidence and the opportunity to meet other paddlers, who are keen to progress.
Each of the programms overall aim is that you remain sea active over the Autumn, Winter and Spring so when the Summer arrives you are ready for your sea kayaking adventure, with renewed confidence and skills.
The Intermediate Winter skills programme is suitable for those who have at least 10 days sea kayaking experience, have paddled in a mixture of conditions, and are comfortable with winds up to and including F4 (14-20mph).
The Intermediate Plus is for 3 star paddlers who also occasionally paddle independantly from a coach or guide or those who hold the 4 star leader training award or similar ability. Can paddle in F4/5 winds (14-25mph), 1.5 swell, surf 1 metre waves and can roll most of the time. Ideal for those who are looking for a top up and or moving towards further increasing ability, understanding and confidence.
While the Advanced course is for those who hold the 4 star Leader award, or the 5 star leader training or have a similar ablity and skill level. Ideal if you want a refresher, prior to assessment or if you want to continue to develop rough water paddling, problem solving and leadership positioning. Under support and guidance.
Remember you can also pick and mix, as long as its with the level below you!
Note you need to provide your own drysuit for any Winter course, for your own safety and comfort.

"I've just completed a two day 4* Sea kayak training course with Roger. Having been coached by Roger in the past, I choose to do this course with Roger because I knew I would get a great deal from the course. My expectations were certainly well and truly met"
"And I'm probably learning more from his mentoring now, as my paddling horizons expand, than ever before. I can't count how many questions I've asked... and he's answered. Roger has the knack of making that suggestion that radically changes your thinking and moves your paddling on in leaps and bounds."
"There are a number of wonderful things about Roger. He has a very light touch in his coaching, and he's always smiling and encouraging you to relax into the enjoyment of the day"
