What does sea kayaking offer you?
Sea kayaking gets you to beautiful wild places, enables you to have a different perspective on the coastline and wildlife and another way of going on a journey.
What have you achieved, to date through paddling with Roger and Coastal Spirit?
I have gone from a very inexperienced paddler who only paddled for a week once a year to a more competent paddler who has passed the three star performance award.
I have learnt to plan my own trips and have recently started paddling my own trips with my partner. He has offered me support and guidance in preparation for these days with my partner and also provided a day for me on Leadership, positioning and incident management - which mainly meant Roger was in the water a lot!
Why Coastal Spirit?
I liked his coaching and have been paddling with him ever since.
What are you looking forward to and where would you most like to paddle next and why?
West Coast of Scotland - Wildlife, quiet, the journey
Choose 3 words to sum up your time with Coastal Spirit?
Professional, Safe, Inspiring!
Great day with Sally working on boat handling, reading the water and its ok to feel uncomfortable.
Cemaes to Bull Bay was perfect, with wind with tide and then wind against by the afternoon so we got a few waves and a nice push along the coast.
It was nice to see Rob again too. Thanks for helping with the shutle!
Great team and super time on our Shetland Adventure with the tall ship Lady of Avenel Sailing. Otters, Puffins, Orca and MuckleFlugga!
Thanks to Zoe Robinson and Hamish Leslie for their support and inputs.

Surf & tide race course, with a good blend of dynamic water over the three days. With Rhoscolyn and the Beacon, Cemaes to Bull Bay via Middle Mouse and the Swellies. We had some super rock features on the north coast on Friday and just the right amount of swell. My highlight was this interesting water spout - it was so much fun!
It was a pleasure paddling with you all and thanks to Craig Young for his support.

P&H Sea Kayaks "And I'm probably learning more from his mentoring now, as my paddling horizons expand, than ever before. I can't count how many questions I've asked... and he's answered. Roger has the knack of making that suggestion that radically changes your thinking and moves your paddling on in leaps and bounds."
"There are a number of wonderful things about Roger. He has a very light touch in his coaching, and he's always smiling and encouraging you to relax into the enjoyment of the day"
"I've just completed a two day 4* Sea kayak training course with Roger. Having been coached by Roger in the past, I choose to do this course with Roger because I knew I would get a great deal from the course. My expectations were certainly well and truly met"
